Ware's story just sent chills down my spine. My dad is a chain smoker and I was thinking in buying him a nicotine patch to refrain him from smoking or minimize the number of cigarettes he'll take. I hope that nicotine patches won't give the same effect as Chantix.

Daphne,
For the most part the nicotine pathces have been proven very successful. They are available in graduated doses which is good, and few reactions are noted.
The one issue that is of concern is that some people react to the adhesive on the patchh. Just take care to be sure the area where the patch is placed is clean before each application. If you notice any redness then try the gum instead or any of the natural remedies we offer.
It is help ful to drink enough water, make sure it is filtered, and also consider a cleanse once successful.
